Industry Reset: Success In Front of and Behind the Camera
May 18th from 8am-1pm in Miami, Florida I’ll be hosting my next workshop in conjunction with The Model University created by Lola Chel. We’ll spend 4 hours discussing industry standard protocols for models and photographers from a logistical, creative, and business perspective. The last hour will be for the VIP experience with Dion photographing the models and Lola posing for the photographers (ONLY 5 SPOTS AVAILABLE).
This workshop was developed because, one, we care about helping our fellow creatives, but also we’ve noticed a negative trend between clients, models, and photographers. As a group we’re not all on the same page. The goal of the workshop is to give you best practices to improve client relationships, enjoy your time on set, create art that you love, network with other creatives, and increase your chances of booking your ideal project.
The workshop will end promptly at 1pm but we encourage you all to stay in contact with each other and shoot at your leisure!

The first half of the workshop will focus on Lola and I discussing what models and photographers should be doing to prepare for a shoot, interacting with creatives online, creative direction, maximizing your time on set, what to do after the shoot, and how to approach your portfolio.
After the discussion we will shift our attention to shooting. Lola and I will give guidance on posing for a fashion editorial, headshots, and lifestyle photoshoot. After our short demo it will be your turn to shoot and pose!
Models please come hair and make up ready and wear your model basics (Click here for an example). Also bring a look that represents the type of jobs you wanted to be hired for. If you’re not sure of what to bring click here for examples.
Photographers please bring your camera and laptop/iPad. Photographers you can bring your own strobes, triggers and modifiers if you’d like but Profoto gear will be available at the 2 stations set up.
